1. Install Google Tag Manager on WordPress
Use:
GTM4WP plugin
Insert header/footer plugin
Theme code injection
Add the GTM container code to the header.
2. Create a Form Submission Trigger
Inside GTM:
Go to Triggers → New
Choose Form Submission
Select “Check Validation”
Enable “All Forms” or specific forms
3. Create a Google Analytics Event Tag
Steps:
Go to Tags → New
Choose GA4 Event
Enter event name:
form_submitLink to your GA4 configuration tag
Attach the form submission trigger
4. Track Button Clicks (Optional)
Create a Click Trigger:
Trigger Type: Click – All Elements
Condition: Click Text = “Submit”
This helps track forms that don’t fire actual submission events.
5. Publish Your GTM Container
Click Submit → Publish.
Test using GTM preview mode.
